Nature of service
You are about to activate a mobile payment functionality (“Apple Pay”) provided by the third-party company Apple Distribution International, incorporated under the laws of Ireland Limited (“Apple”), which will enable you to make contactless or online payments (if this option is available) on compatible terminals.
By activating Apple Pay through adding your payment card to the digital wallet in the application Wallet (“Wallet”), hosted on your device (e.g. iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad), you agree that Raiffeisen Bank (‘Raiffeisen‘) allows you to link your card to Apple Pay to initiate payments via your account.
You understand that Apple does not directly provide a payment service and does not manage your funds or financial transactions but acts solely as a technological intermediary by allowing you to initiate payments via a secure interface.
You acknowledge that:
- specific transaction limits may apply,
- you may remove your card from the Wallet at any time,
- as a cardholder, you are bound by the obligations and responsibilities set out in the General Terms and Conditions of card use, in particular regarding security, confidentiality and notification in the event of loss, theft or any risk of misuse of the card, PIN code, or the device,
- if you sell or lend your device to a third party, you must remove your card from the Wallet,
- Raiffeisen shall not be held liable for any omission or delay in the removal of the card,
- Raiffeisen reserves the right to suspend Apple Pay if a risk of fraud is detected or in the event of non-compliance with the terms of use.
Data transfer
You agree that when using Apple Pay, Raiffeisen will provide Apple with the necessary data (your name and card data) to enable the service and, where applicable, to display transactions made with Apple Pay within the payment application; you also agree that this data may be used to process payments securely, without being stored in the wallet of the payment application.
The personal data and information communicated to Apple Pay are subject to Apple's privacy and data protection policy, as well as the contractual and usage terms, as accepted by you.
Responsibilities and safety
You acknowledge that Raiffeisen is not a party to the contract binding you to Apple and Apple Pay and that the latter are solely responsible for the payment functionality and security of the Wallet.
By activating and using Apple Pay, you remain subject to the General Terms and Conditions of Use for cards issued by Raiffeisen, which have been provided to you and that can be consulted on the Raiffeisen website (https://www.raiffeisen.lu/en/raiffeisen-bank/legal-notice).
In this context, the term “card” should also be understood as including the device on which Apple Pay is installed (for example, your phone or your smart watch).
Similarly, the term “PIN” should be understood as referring to the security methods(s) associated with Apple Pay and/or the device on which the payment application is configured.
In this context, you undertake to keep confidential any data used to access to the Apple Pay, including in particular your biometric data (such as fingerprint or facial recognition), and to store them only on your device and not to disclose any specific code related to the payment application.
